gameboy reader pcb

Playing gameboy is fun. I find Pokemon especially enjoyable but the older generation do have some flaws. They are not always balanced enough to be fun. Bugs can also affect the gameplay. Your progress in Pokemon is saved in RAM on the cartridge and yes, they do ship with a soldered battery. The games are old and the battery will fail eventually and thereby deleting all your beloved Pokemon :c Both problems can be solved with a cartridge reader/writer, simply backup your savefile, edit your Pokemons and restore the game. But there is another problem: there are no open hardware/software reader available. Yes, some devices claim to be exactly that but none of them convinced me to be honest.
